Brett Kissel writing songs in Nashville, Tennessee
Monday, March 8, 2010 - UPDATE
Alberta boy - Brett Kissel received great reviews from his performances in Vancouver, BC during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. He performed at the Alberta Pavilion (Alberta House) to a packed house (as well as hundreds of fans out on the streets of downtown Vancouver), who leaned over the barricades to watch the show. Among the crowd were Minister of Tourism - Hon. Cindy Ady, and Minister of Infrastructure - Hon. Ray Danyluk. As soon as he was introduced Brett played over 60 minutes of great country music to the energized crowd.
The next morning, Brett was up early to perform on the Alberta Train that carried delegates and VIP's to Whistler, BC for the outdoor Olympic events. Again, Brett was a hit as he entertained for over an hour (well over his contracted 20 minute acoustic set), to a wide range of VIP's from Travel Alberta, Northlands, and The Calgary Stampede. In fact, Brett's performance was even reviewed in the Vancouver SUN the next day.
Behind the smiles, laughter, and music, Brett was worried about the fate of his trusty, old Martin guitar, lost at the hands of Air Canada. When arriving in Vancouver, it was then determined that Air Canada had left Brett's guitar behind. Just hours before his first show, Rufus' Guitar Shop in Vancouver lent Brett a Martin guitar to perform with for the weekend. In fact the media correspondents for the Government of Alberta featured the entire story online on their website. Copy and paste the link below into your browser to read more about Brett's guitar adventures in Vancouver, and to watch a clip of Brett inform us all on his "songwriting journeys" in Nashville, Tennessee.

It has now been close to 2 weeks since Brett Kissel returned from the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver, but the young Alberta artist is not losing any momentum. In fact Brett has been writing songs in Nashville, Tennessee for the past month or more, and is getting ready to record a brand new album set to be released later on this year. However, Brett is keen on remaining patient throughout the entire process, because he knows that "songs" are the most important part of any album. So, Brett has been writing with some great Canadian and American songwriters in Nashville, in hopes to create that big hit song for his next album (his 6th recording) in the young country star's life.
Be sure to check back to Brett's website for another update next Monday!
*Brett Kissel is now taking bookings for his 2nd Annual "Hometown Concert Tour". After the success of last year's tour, with 23 sold out concerts, Brett and his band are hitting the road again.
